HOW TO CARE FOR HUMAN HAIR BUNDLES

High-quality human hair bundles can remain soft, smooth, and beautiful for a long time when they are cared for properly. However, improper washing, rough brushing, excessive heat, and product buildup may cause dryness, tangling, shedding, or breakage.

Whether your bundles are installed as a sew-in or kept separately for future use, the following care tips will help maintain their texture, shine, and lifespan.

1. DETANGLE YOUR HAIR GENTLY

Detangle your bundles regularly to prevent small knots from becoming difficult to remove.

Divide the hair into sections and begin brushing from the ends. Gradually work your way upward toward the middle and roots. Do not brush directly from the top to the bottom, as this may pull on the wefts and cause unnecessary shedding.

For straight and body-wave bundles, use a wide-tooth comb, paddle brush, or soft bristle brush.

For curly or deep-wave bundles, use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to gently separate the curls without destroying the original curl pattern.

Always support the hair with one hand while brushing to reduce tension on the wefts.

2. AVOID ROUGH COMBING WHEN THE HAIR IS WET

Wet hair is more delicate and easier to stretch or damage.

Do not rub, twist, pull, or brush wet bundles aggressively. Rough handling may cause tangling, breakage, and shedding.

Before washing, gently remove any knots. After washing and conditioning, use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to detangle the hair carefully.

Always work from the ends upward.

3. WASH YOUR BUNDLES EVERY 2–4 WEEKS

Human hair bundles do not need to be washed every day. Washing every two to four weeks is usually suitable, depending on how often the hair is worn and how much styling product is used.

Bundles may need to be washed sooner when there is visible oil, sweat, dirt, odor, or product buildup.

Washing too frequently may remove moisture from the hair, while not washing often enough may make the bundles feel heavy, greasy, or tangled.

4. HOW TO WASH HUMAN HAIR BUNDLES

Before washing, gently detangle the hair and make sure the wefts are not twisted.

1.Fill a basin with cold or lukewarm water below 45°C/113°F.

2.Add a small amount of mild, sulfate-free shampoo.

3.Place the bundles into the water with the hair flowing in one direction.

4.Gently move the hair through the water.

5.Do not rub, scrub, twist, or wring the bundles.

6.Rinse thoroughly with clean water until all shampoo has been removed.

When washing installed bundles, gently clean the scalp and the hair underneath the installation. Avoid scratching or pulling the wefts.

5. DEEP-CONDITION THE HAIR

Human hair bundles do not receive natural oils directly from the scalp, so regular conditioning is essential.

After shampooing, apply a moisturizing conditioner or deep conditioner from the middle of the hair to the ends.

Avoid applying heavy conditioner directly onto the wefts, bonding glue, tape, or installation points, as this may loosen the installation.

Leave the conditioner on for approximately 10–15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cold or lukewarm water.

Deep conditioning helps restore softness, moisture, and shine.

6. DRY YOUR BUNDLES CORRECTLY

After washing, gently press the hair with a clean towel to remove excess water.

Do not twist, wring, or rub the bundles with the towel.

For uninstalled bundles, lay them flat on a clean towel or hang them securely by the weft. Make sure the hair remains straight and untangled while drying.

For installed bundles, make sure both the hair and the braids underneath are completely dry. Leaving the base of the installation damp may cause odor or product buildup.

Air-drying is recommended whenever possible.

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as excessive sunlight may dry out the hair or affect its color.

7. LIMIT HEAT STYLING

Human hair bundles can be straightened, curled, and restyled, but frequent high-temperature styling may cause permanent dryness and damage.

Before using a flat iron, curling iron, or blow-dryer:

·Make sure the hair is completely dry.

·Apply a lightweight heat protectant.

·Use the lowest effective temperature.

·Style the hair in small sections.

·Avoid repeatedly heating the same section.

For curling, a temperature of approximately 250–300°F is generally suitable. Avoid holding the curling tool on the hair for too long.

Regular conditioning is especially important when the bundles are frequently heat-styled.

8. USE THE RIGHT HAIR PRODUCTS

Choose lightweight products designed for human hair extensions, bundles, or color-treated hair.

Recommended products include:

·Sulfate-free shampoo

·Moisturizing conditioner

·Deep-conditioning treatment

·Lightweight leave-in conditioner

·Heat protectant

·Lightweight hair serum

Avoid using too much oil, grease, wax, gel, or silicone-based product. Heavy product buildup can make the hair feel stiff, sticky, or greasy.

Apply oils and serums mainly to the middle and ends of the hair. Avoid applying excessive product directly to the wefts.

9. PROTECT YOUR BUNDLES AT NIGHT

Nighttime protection helps reduce friction, tangling, dryness, and frizz.

Before sleeping, gently detangle the hair.

For straight or body-wave bundles, place the hair into one or two loose braids.

For curly or deep-wave bundles, loosely twist or braid the hair while preserving the curl pattern.

Cover the hair with a satin or silk bonnet, or sleep on a satin pillowcase.

Do not sleep with wet bundles. Wet hair may become severely tangled overnight and may also cause moisture to remain underneath an installed hairstyle.

10. CARE FOR THE WEFTS

The wefts hold the hair together, so they should be handled carefully.

Do not cut the wefts unnecessarily during installation. Cutting too many sections may increase shedding.

Whenever possible, fold the wefts instead of cutting them. When cutting is necessary, the cut ends may be sealed by a professional stylist.

Avoid pulling, scratching, or applying excessive tension to the wefts.

Do not apply heavy oil, conditioner, or styling product directly onto the weft line.

11. CARE FOR CURLY AND WAVY BUNDLES

Curly and wavy textures require additional moisture to maintain their pattern.

Lightly mist the hair with water or a water-based leave-in conditioner. Gently scrunch the hair upward with your hands to refresh the curls.

Do not brush curly bundles when they are dry, as this may create frizz and loosen the curl pattern.

Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb when detangling. Start from the ends and work upward carefully.

12. STORE UNINSTALLED BUNDLES PROPERLY

Before storing your bundles, make sure they are clean, completely dry, and free from tangles.

Secure the hair loosely and place it inside a satin bag, hair-extension bag, or clean storage box.

Store the bundles in a cool, dry, and ventilated area.

Do not store wet or damp bundles inside a sealed plastic bag, as trapped moisture may cause odor or damage.

13. A SMALL AMOUNT OF SHEDDING IS NORMAL

A small amount of shedding may occur during brushing, washing, or styling.

However, excessive shedding may be caused by:

·Rough brushing

·Cutting the wefts

·Pulling on the installation

·Excessive heat

·Product buildup

·Improper washing

·Sleeping without protection

·Applying conditioner directly to the wefts

Gentle handling and proper maintenance can significantly reduce unnecessary shedding.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The key to long-lasting human hair bundles is consistent and gentle care.

Detangle from the ends upward, wash with mild products, deep-condition regularly, protect the wefts, limit excessive heat, and cover the hair while sleeping.

With the right care routine, your human hair bundles can remain soft, shiny, manageable, and beautiful through multiple installations.
